There are some considerations in using smart control technology. Some of the items you can control are not that important to control. Do you really have to remotely feed your Koi pond? Do you really need to have 24/7 security cameras to check out your attic?
And with the internet of things there are always security risks. The same entry device that opens your door could possibly be hacked and controlled by someone wanting to break in. Manufacturers are working hard to minimize this risk but bad guys are working hard to maximize the same risk.
But overall architects are increasingly allowing for smart control technology when working on drawings and plans. To many, the benefits outweigh the security risks and the convenience offered to the homeowner is fantastic.
